Leadership feels different when I start following before I feel ready to lead.

Quote from Yoda in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

“Pass on what you have learned. Strength, mastery. But weakness, folly, failure also. Yes, failure most of all. The greatest teacher, failure is. Luke, we are what they grow beyond. That is the true burden of all masters.”

Key Insight

“The greatest teacher, failure is.”

Embracing the Journey of Practice

The GUTS trainings in New Westminster, BC, in June and September 2026 were transformative experiences that went beyond scheduled events. They allowed me to embrace practice as an opportunity for growth and learning, where mistakes were welcomed as essential steps on my journey.

These sessions taught me that practice is not just repetition; it’s about engaging with an open mind. I saw how trust in the process fosters an environment for growth. Together, we navigated challenges, celebrated progress, and learned from missteps. This journey reinforced my belief that every moment spent practicing is a chance to evolve, both individually and collectively, maybe even spritually.

Bigger, Better, Badder, More Frequently

This is my new mission. I wholeheartedly believe in our work and my role within it. My goal is to create more opportunities for both personal and collective growth. The GUTS training program serves as an accessible entry point, both in terms of time and cost, into the depths of our mission. I envision this as a model not just for New Westminster, but as a blueprint for Vancouver Island, the Okanagan, and the entire country of Canada.

Gratitude

I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who came out and participated in this initiative. Your presence and support mean the world to me, and it’s your enthusiasm that drives this project forward.

A special thank you goes to the leadership team, Millan Patel and Phil Lyall. Your guidance and dedication have been instrumental in shaping our vision and ensuring we stay on track. I truly appreciate your hard work and commitment to our shared goals.

The King in me sees the King in you.

I imagine that many people are seeing leadership in me right now. I accept that. Thank you. I am also here to hold up the mirror so that you, the reader, see that I am only acting as the mirror. There is a King inside of you.

I am looking for people to continue this training. Not just in Vancouver, but local to wherever you are. This is not an end; it is a beginning. I am not the one who will conclude this blog post. Instead, it ends with a King round: Approach the mirror and say, "The King in me sees the King in you. Thank you for your ________________________________."
